Create a Sketchbook

For Ages 14 – 19

This highly sought-after course makes its return, benefiting from the expertise and guidance of University of the Arts London (UAL) tutors, current undergraduates, alumni, and tutors from The King’s Foundation. Throughout the programme, students will gain practical insight into how to develop and maintain a sketchbook, drawing inspiration from a wide range of artists’ work.

The course is built around this summer’s theme of Urban Narratives, encouraging participants to look deeper into this concept as a stimulus for their own creative journey.

Students are actively encouraged to experiment, take creative risks, and explore new approaches through drawing and mark-making techniques. They will discover innovative ways to develop both two-dimensional and three-dimensional work, making use of recycled and readily available materials.

In addition, the course introduces essential research skills, equipping students to seek out and generate inspiration for independent learning. These skills are particularly valuable for those wishing to build and enhance their personal portfolios.
