Autumn Half Term: Urban Narratives Mural

October 26th–30th October 2026, 11am – 4pm

Participants will develop ideas through visual research, sketchbook work, photography, mark-making, stencilling, lettering, colour mixing and safe painting techniques. Through guided discussion, they will create a shared mural reflecting Hanbury Street, the Brady Centre and Tower Hamlets. The theme Urban Narratives touches on heritage, migration, identity, nature, and environmental change.

Young people will work to a professional brief, test and adapt ideas, receive feedback and collaborate on a large-scale public artwork. They will develop teamwork, communication, problem-solving, confidence and pride in place. The completed mural will create a lasting visual legacy outside the Brady Centre. This project is a great opportunity to learn about street art and how to create large-scale artworks in an outdoor setting.
