Schools & Teachers
A Team Arts Education became a Community Interest Company (C.I.C) in 2021. Prior to this, ‘A’ Team Arts had been funded by Tower Hamlets Council since 1990.
Our longevity within the borough has enabled us to form partnerships with schools and other arts organisations. We have a special relationship with Central St Martins UAL and are funded by McQueen.
We have been an active member of THAT network London (Tower Hamlets Art Teacher Network) since its inception, having contributed to the annual exhibition in the Art Pavilion and the programme of workshops. Through this we cultivate relationships with teachers and can respond to their needs and that of their students. Our long experience of working with young people gives us a valuable insight into the challenges faced by them.
We have been based in the Brady Arts and Community Centre since 1999 which boasts a unique and inspiring art room with specialist resources. It provides a creative space for students to express themselves and enjoy meeting other like-minded young people from different backgrounds and schools.
Our staff have degree level qualifications in art and design pathways, all have DBS certificates and have undergone safeguarding training.
Our Unique Selling Points

We provide a safe and creative space for creating art with like-minded young people in a unique and inspiring space.
Students can explore a wide range of art forms and themes drawing on current issues such as the environment.
We showcase young people’s achievements with exhibitions and other opportunities.
Our projects are designed to support mindfulness.
Our programmes include visits to relevant exhibitions and events.
Our workshops are led by industry specialists such as McQueen team, artists and craft practitioners.
We have a long and productive collaboration with FE and HE institutions such a UAL: Central Saint Martins Knowledge Exchange Team, Ravensbourne, Leyton Sixth Form and The King’s Foundation.
Because of this we have a good success rate with students progressing to Foundation and Degree courses. Many alumni who are on degree courses come back to assist with our sessions.

Portfolio development for years 12 and 13
Support for students with course work at GCSE and A Level creative subjects.
